Lino "Boom" Dayupay

Boom is a Christian husband and father of 2 with two adopted children.  Boom lived half his life in the Philippines and the other half in Canada.  He graduated from Trebas Institute of Recording Arts where he learned about producing, engineering and artist management.  His first computer was an Atari.

Audioworks

Boom is an award winning songwriter who's work with the pop trio Kulay was picked up by Sony International / Columbia Records where they did extensive touring in Europe and became the first Filipino group to be picked up by a major label.  Kulay toured with the BBC Radio One Roadshow alongside with groups like All Saints.  Boom's work was also remixed by internationally acclaimed DJ Norman Cook "Fat Boy Slim" for their smash "Burn".  Boom' has won local awards from AWIT to KATHA from best Rap, Gospel, Pop, R&B all the way to Ska.  He also won Jingle of the Year for Pepsi "Ask for More".  He also won in the best engineered song (which he recorded at home).  Kulay also appeared in an international movie which they shot in UK where Boom's song "Delicious" was used in the movie.  Boom's remix of "Shout" was the only Asian track used in MTV PartyZone and Ministry of Sound compilation.  Boom produced and remixed other groups Boom recently produced the Crying Ladies Soundtrack which he gathered some of the countries top artists such as Parokya Ni Edgar, Barbie’s Cradle, Kuh Ledesma, Akafellas and South Border which spawned the number 1 smash “Rainbow” which Boom also directed the Music Video of. Currently Boom is the creative director of élan Music, which is a creative music group that develops, manages and produces albums and music videos to their pool of talents. He is also finally going back into performing with his own group he formed called “Malaya”, four piece group who plays “Feel-Good Beach Music”.

Boom is also an award winning Music Video Director with an impressive list of clientele: Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Kyla, Kulay, Geneva Cruz, Celeste Legaspi, 7 Shots of Wisdom, Karylle, Masta Plann and many more.  He has recently won for Gary V and Kyla, Best Male Video on MTV Asia.  He also won several other MTV Viewer's Choice Awards and won awards in AWIT and ASAP for video and director of the year.  He also directed / created the R&B, Hip Hop show URBAN MYX for Studio 23 for a year.  Boom's last 2 videos for Gary V was shot on HD and Boom really wants to pioneer with the HD technology with his movie "No Money (The Untold Story)" to commercials.

Aside from his audio / visual passion, Boom is also a fashion designer with his clothing line "HALO".  He is a choreographer, he also donates his talents for impoverished urban poor children for NGO HOPE Worldwide. He has also directed fashion shows and concerts.  He loves every aspect of his work from conceptualizing to cameraworks, from making the soundtracks to editing.
